Impressive quarter leather Folio Society edition of selected pieces and extracts that describes the mythological history of Rome plus elements of her early history that contributed to the city's legend. Included is verse by Horace, extracts from Virgil's Aeneid, writings by Dionysius of Halicarnassus, Plutarch and the senator Macrobius plus others; all introduced by Norfolk. With striking colour illustrations by Grahame Baker. Complete with slipcase. Quarter leather with pictorial cloth, raised in gilt. 8vo. Some light shelf-wear and marking to slipcase. Small sticker residue mark to ffep, else crisp and clean. Near fine.
