Staple-bound booklet; H 20cm x L 12.25cm. 38 pages plus covers. Black stiff paper covers with white silhouette-style illustration upon front cover. Some rust to binding staples; slight toning to pages but overall still quite clean. A very good+ copy. Features summary descriptions with inset b/w photographs of 31 Natchez houses comprising the 1949 pilgrimage. Foreword by Theodora Britton Marshall. The Natchez, Mississippi Pilgrimage Garden Club organized the state's first Spring Pilgrimage of local antebellum residences in 1932 and, following their success, other Mississippi towns initiated their own annual tours including Woodville in 1938, Holly Springs in 1939, Columbus in 1940, and Aberdeen in 1976. Early pilgrimage ephemera is rather difficult to find and much sought after by Mississippi collectors.
