There is an owner's book label on the front endpaper. There are occasional very small stains & areas of soiling. Numerous black-and-white photographic illustrations, maps & diagrams. Very good. Admiral Downes writes in his foreword: "[The Reader] is, in almost its entirety, a compilation of articles written just before or during the present war.
