About the Author: Bronwyn Mitchell BCom (Hons), BProc, MCIPS, MCIArb first encountered the Engineering and Construction Contract in 1995 and has been using it ever since. Bronwyn assisted in redrafting a Small Works Contract, also written under license, for Scottish contracting situations and this version was fundamentally adopted and later published as the Short Contract. She has been involved in drafting literally hundreds of contracts based on the Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC), Professional Services Contract (PSC) and Short Contract, all New Engineering Contract documents. She has been training employers and contractors in the use of the New Engineering Contract since 1996. Barry Trebes FRICS, FAPM, FInstCES has over 30 years experience of providing consultancy advice facilitation and training on major developments across numerous business sectors including: aviation, defence, power, utilities, infrastructure, property, rail, highway and water both in the UK and internationally. Barry provides NEC3 support services including training, workshops and consultancy, including providing NEC3 for Thomas Telford Master Classes and their Project Manager Accreditation course. He actively contributes to industry knowledge through numerous articles and is co-author of Managing Reality a five book set on the practical use of the NEC3 ECC contract, BS 6079 part 4 Project Management in the Construction Industry. He also initiated and helped to develop the first web based NEC3 contract management system named CCM with MPS Limited in 2000.
