Octavo blue pictorial cloth with a red cord coming out of the castle window to both cover and spine (tips & spine rubbed) half title present +255pp +[1]p book list. First and last two leaves sl.foxed else V.G crisp and bright. *Story of two cousins one who works for a Philanthropist the other who takes over as governess of three children, the eldest of whom is a troublesome child and also a troublemaker the youngest a suffering cripple. In teaching them about Christ the governess brings the children to love her. Meanwhile she has rejected the young doctor who scoffs at religion, inherits money from an Uncle, founds a misson for orphans and marries her now converted doctor. And all are leading the life they belief the Lord meant them to pursue. Victorian morality leads to happiness, and wealth. 1 volume.
