The single volume edition, with 29 coloured plates and numerous photographs of celebrated horses. Quarto (280 mm); [xii], 628 pp. Original dark brown half morocco over brown boards, edges of the spine rubbed and some slight abrasions to sides; gilt bands and gilt lettering to the spine; all edges gilt. Tips of corners rubbed. With three sections of appendices: "Lawful stakes and gaming and wagering in relation to horses", by W.B. Woodgate; "Care of the horse's foot, and some notes on shoeing", by Captain Scratchley, and "Horses for the Army", by Charles Richardson. Originally issued in 24 fascicles, unbound, with printed covers. NB: AS THIS IS A VERY HEAVY BOOK AN EXTRA SHIPPING COST WILL APPLY.
