An early and uncommon herbal, consisting entirely of herbal-based formulas for a wide variety of physical ailments. 108 pages, hardbound with paper-covered boards, the leaves stitched to the spine apparently as originally issued. The title page refers to two variations for sale, one bound and one stitched, and this is presumably the more economical stitched (although hardbound) version. This is undated but appears to be circa 1820. A very acceptable copy, with front free end paper missing, light top corner wear to front board, owner notes on title page, first contents page and inside both boards. "Domestic Medicinal Book" has been scripted on front board, it's unknown if this is as issued or if this was added by an owner. Previous owner has made some notes on title page and inside both boards, there is some wear to top right corner of the front board, but otherwise this is a very tight, near very good copy.
