This volume and its companion, The new dynamics of ageing volume 1, provide comprehensive multi-disciplinary overviews of the very latest research on ageing. This book concentrates on four major themes: autonomy and independence in later life, biology and ageing, food and nutrition and representation of old age. About the Author
Miriam Bernard is Emeritus Professor of Social Gerontology at Keele University. She has researched and written widely on ageing, and was President of the British Society of Gerontology from 2010-2012.
Anna Goulding works at the Institute of Health and Society, Newcastle University. She is interested in cultural participation and wellbeing.
Andrew Newman is Professor of Cultural Gerontology at Newcastle University. His research focuses on resilience, connectivity and community participation.
Liz Lloyd is Senior Research Fellow in the School for Policy Studies at University of Bristol and at the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) School for Social Care Research. She is also a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
