A pocket-size hardcover book with a leather spine and green paper-covered boards. The edges are chafed, exposing the underlying cardboard. Contains a neat ownership inscription, stating that the book was purchased in Boston in 1852. Light staining on endpapers, and front gutter wearing through. the overall binding is still secure for normal handling, and text unmarked. An 1843 reprint of the 1777 New England Primer; see Sabin 52714. Measures approx. 4.5" x 3.4".
