half-title (no front end-paper)+t.p.+406 (Part One ends p.176, unpaginated adverts missing), early black sig. 'Bert Lambert' top half-title, main fault is gutter opening between 176/177 cracking text-block in half, end-gutters also opening and a little weak, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked. Leather-backed marbled board covers very rubbed both to surfaces and corners, dry (now dressed in desperate salvation effort) leather spine vertically cracked corresponding to cracked gutter, dull, ends chipped and unlettered. Main thing this has going for it is the apparent rarity of the greatly enlarged 2 ed. (none listed on Bookfinder at time of listing and only a couple of 1st). A reference/working copy only.
