Reprint (first published in 1938 by William Helburn, Inc.). Unpaged: 24 pages of initial text, etc. followed by 135 pages of b/w plates. Hardcover: H 31cm x L 22cm. Dark olive dust jacket well rubbed, nicks and several tears as well as some creasing at edges; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Aquamarine cloth. Moderate toning to front endpapers; light toning to rear endpapers; past owner's personal bookplate on ffep verso; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. A very good copy in a very good- dust jacket. With map of the Garden District and the Vieux Carrà on the front pastedown and rear free endpaper, map of southeast Louisiana plantation houses on the front free endpaper and rear pastedown, frontispiece, Introduction by Talbot Faulkner Hamlin, Author's Foreword, essay "General Description" (pages 11-18), b/w photographs (plates #1-#117) by Rudolf Hertzberg, and measured drawings (plates #118-#135).
