Reprint (first published in 1938 by William Helburn, Inc.). Unpaged: 24 pages of initial text, etc. followed by 135 pages of b/w plates. Hardcover: H 31cm x L 22cm. Olive dust jacket strongly rubbed; 2cm chip and extended tear at spine head; other smaller chips, tears, creasing/bumping at edges; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Aquamarine cloth. Past owner's ink signature at top of front pastedown; interior pages are otherwise bright and clean. Binding is firm. A very good+ copy in a good+ dust jacket. With map of the Garden District and the Vieux Carrà on the front pastedown and rear free endpaper, map of southeast Louisiana plantation houses on the front free endpaper and rear pastedown, frontispiece, Introduction by Talbot Faulkner Hamlin, Author's Foreword, essay "General Description" (pages 11-18), b/w photographs (plates #1-#117) by Rudolf Hertzberg, and measured drawings (plates #118-#135).
