Early printing (first published 1895). i-xxii, 1-402, [1-10], 1-5 pages. Hardcover: H 19.5cm x L 13.75cm. Lacks dust jacket. Original dark green cloth lightly rubbed, spine and front board's gilt stamping remains bright, light fraying at spine ends, slender shelfwear along bottom board edges, two small discolored patches at bottom of front board. Gilt top edge; toning to fore-edge and bottom edge. Some foxing to several early leaves but interior pages overall remain clean. Glue repair to slender tearing of surface paper along rear hinge; a few slight stress points to binding but otherwise firm. Still an attractive very good- copy. Fifteen pages of publisher advertisements at book's rear. Remains a popular history of the Crescent City despite being first published six score years ago.
