In 1963 the Pro Football Hall of Fame was founded in Canton, Ohio to honour the excellence of America's premier sport, pro football. Housed in a glittering, modern, four-building complex it displays the game's most exciting events and its most captivating heroes. Each year several of the sport's most successful players, coaches and contributors are elected to the
Hall of Fame- they are thereby promoted to the superstar league, for only the very best are chosen.

The story of every one of the men enshrined in the Hall is unique and no two stories are alike, but each one in the Pro Football Hall of Fame All-Time Greats receives equal attention with an in-depth biography, photographs and statistics. Such legendary idols as Sammy Baugh of the Washington Redskins and the Green Bay Packer's great coach Vince Lombardi are
included, as are the fabled quarterback Joe Namath who played for the New York Jets and Cleveland Brown's fullback, Jim Brown. All 144 of the players' stories from the charter year of 1963 to 1988 make for compulsive and entertaining reading.

Much of the development of the game and its current international success is due to the National Football League. Founded in 1920 the NFL brought a semblance of order to a mismanaged sport that many times was on the brink of extinction. For the past seven decades, the NFL has grown steadily in status and influence, so that today it commands worldwide interest and enthusiasm. In the introduction, the history of the game is explained from its inception to the present day, showing how it has developed into one of the most exhilarating games to watch and demanding games to play.

Pro Football Hall of Fame All-Time Greats provides a detailed presentation of the magic moments and knighted superstars of American football which has never before been captured in one volume. All 192 pages of this book sparkle with 250 outstanding photographs in full colour and black and white which come from every era of American football. Coupled
with an authoritative, readable text, they are not only illuminating but also provide an incomparable historical reference to the many stages of the game as it has developed through the decades.
