NGOs in this era of globalization have gained popularity to work in the developmental fields such as health education income generation environment micro finance social forestry rural development etc. NGOs cannot replace the state but may perform complementary as well as supplementary role. At the same time they encounter difficulties as well as criticisms at organizational level. It is against this backdrop this book analyses the present developmental efforts of NGOs.
