Synopsis

Dining This is a large, elegant dining room decorated in shades of gold and burgundy. On the far side of the room is a fireplace with a marble mantelpiece above it; it has an elaborate surround and is topped with a carved wooden carving of a lion's head. The curtains are navy blue and cream, and they hang from the windows high up on each wall. There are several paintings of landscapes and still lifes hung here and there throughout the room. A serving cart is pushed against the wall between the dining table and a buffet. Candles burn atop the buffet, casting soft golden light over the furnishings. A second set of double doors lead to the hall. The carpet is burgundy.
