Item description from seller

560p. Ex-library; REBOUND. A hardcover book that has been rebound in imitation leather. Spine barely faded. Library stamps on endpapers and title page. Age-toning and some foxing to pages. The incorrect index has been bound into the rear of the volume; it contains the index for Volume 113 and lacks the correct index for Volume 112. Otherwise clean and tight. Good, sturdy reading condition. Volume 112 of THE NORTH AMERICAN REVIEW, the first literary magazine in the United States. This volume contains the issues for January through April 1871. Features include a review of "Poems" by Bret Harte, a lengthy article on "An Erie Raid" detailing some events of the Erie War for control of the Erie Railway Company, and a review weighing the social commentary in "Ralph the Heir" by Anthony Trollope against that of two lesser-known American novels.
