640p. Ex-library; REBOUND. A hardcover book that has been rebound in 3/4 brown cloth with marbled boards. Leather labels are crackled. Front hinge cracked between title page and first article; all pages remain present. Library stamps on a few inner pages and a few closed tears to some page margins. Text clean; covers detaching and binding shaken but secure for normal handling. A good reading copy. Volume 134 of THE NORTH AMERICAN REVIEW, the first literary magazine in the United States. This volume contains the issues for January through June 1882. Features include "Shall Women Practice Medicine?" by Mary Putnam Jacobi, "Anti-Vaccinism" by Henry Austin Martin, and "A Memorandum at a Venture" by Walt Whitman.
