A couple of library stamps inside; pages tanned and foxed and some scuffs and tears to inner edge of pages 162-164. Otherwise a clean, tight book in good reading condition. Volume 153 of THE NORTH AMERICAN REVIEW, the first literary magazine in the United States. This volume contains the issues for July through December 1891. Features include an article on "Goldwin Smith and the Jews" by Isaac Besht Bendavid, "The State as an Immoral Teacher" and "Dogs and Their Affections" by Ouida, and "Italy and the Pope" by Ex- Prime Minister Crispi.
