About the Authors

A resident of Nova Scotia, Dr. James R. MacDonald is originally from North Carolina, a descendant of the Highland Scottish settlers that immigrated to the Cape Fear River Valley. His education includes a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh in Scottish Studies and a degree in Gaelic from Sabhal M�r Ostaig, the Gaelic college in Skye. Dr. MacDonald taught Celtic Studies at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia and has tutored many Gaelic learners. He currently teaches through Comunn G�idhlig Thoronto / The Toronto Gaelic Society.

Leonard Leslie Brooke (24 September 1862 - 2 May 1940) was a British children's book illustrator, fine artist, and writer.

William Morris (24 March 1834 - 3 October 1896) was a British textile designer, artist, writer, printer, translator and socialist activist associated with the British Arts and Crafts Movement.
