Born to a family rooted in Jabal Amel and shaped by the realities of southern Lebanon, Berri's political path unfolded alongside the major turning points of modern Lebanese history: the social and political mobilization of the Shiʿa community, the rise of Imam Musa al-Sadr, the emergence and evolution of the Amal Movement, the devastation of the Civil War, the negotiations that produced the Taif Agreement, the post-war reconstruction period, and the repeated national crises that continue to test Lebanon's institutions.

Drawing on historical scholarship, political analysis, and institutional records, the book follows Berri's path from law and student activism to his leadership of Amal and his long tenure as Speaker of Parliament.
