Lizbeth Murphy always has a plan, and most of her plans have worked―until now.
No matter what she tries, she can’t get rid of her dad’s new girlfriend, Claire. And when she and her mom move to the other side of town, Lizbeth’s attempts to make friends in her new sixth-grade class backfire spectacularly.
Her teacher forces her to wear a name tag, she’s seated with three notorious “weirdos,” and a series of misunderstandings gets her in more and more trouble. On top of all that, she’s required to participate in a school-wide talent show.
Reluctantly, Lizbeth finds herself teaming up with the Weirdos to create an art project for the show. To her surprise, she starts to make friends with people she thought had nothing in common with her. But the rest of her life still feels like a mess, between getting bullied at school and feuding with Claire at home.
When sabotage threatens to ruin her art project, Lizbeth faces a crisis she hasn’t planned for―one that changes the way she sees her friends, her enemies, and even herself.
"Fun, funny, and fully heartfelt. Everyone needs true-blue friends like Lizbeth's. SuperChicken for life."―Kristin L. Gray, author of The Amelia Six and Vilonia Beebe Takes Charge
"One of those books that explores difficult topics―divorce, a new school, being dubbed a "weirdo"―with grace and good humor."―Rebecca Petruck, author of Boy Bites Bug and Steering Toward Normal
"This hilarious and heartfelt gem is moving straight to my 'favorites' shelf."―Lisa Lewis Tyre, author of Last in a Long Line of Rebels and Hope in the Holler
