Synopsis:
This work by Andrew Jukes is a scholarly examination in depth of the names of God in both Testaments, such as Elohim, Jehovah, El Shaddai, Adonai. The author shows how the different names of God display the unity rather than the disunity of Holy Scriptures. The Foreword by Charles R. Wood notes that the chapters embodied in this work were originally given as a series of lectures in 1882.
About the Author: Andrew Jukes (1815–1901) was educated at Harrow and Trinity College, Cambridge. He was appointed deacon and licensed to the Curacy of St. John’s Church, Hull. Juke’s writing also includes The Names of God in Holy Scripture, available from Kregel Publications.
