Royal George, a first rate gun ship in the Royal Navy. The ship sunk in 1782, when it was anchored at Spithead to take supplies to go and relive Gibraltar. The ship sunk and lost more than eight-hundred lives. In this work, the anonymous authors recounts the sinking of this ship.The author also talks about Major-General Charles Paisley's 1839 attempted to clear the wreckage of the ships. Front hinge is starting but firm. Ink inscription to the paste downs. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are lightly age-toned and clean with a few odd spots. Ink note to a few leaves. Very Good.
