About this Item

Quarto sized (8" x 10 1/2") program book from the 1912 National Progressive Party Convention held at The Coliseum in Chicago, August 5th, 1912. 64 pp. in three-color illustrated wraps. Illustrated throughout with photographs and illustrated adverts. Full page photographic portrait of Theodore Roosevelt as well as other prominent Progressive Party members. Blank ballot tally sheet at page 29. This was the convention of Roosevelt's "Bull Moose Party"; TR was nominated, effectively splitting the Republican Party (whose nominee was Taft) and enabling Woodrow Wilson and the Decomrates to capture the White House. Very good, covers lightly soiled and with some faint foxing, internally clean, ballot unmarked. Laid in is a silk ribbon, 2 1/2" x 7", white imprinted in blue with "Progressive From Missouri" and a cartoonist figure of a formally dressed man. Bookseller Inventory # E13349B
