About the Author

ISRAEL TAL is the Assistant Minister of Defense for Israel./e In February 1942, he joined the British Eighth Army, Jewish Brigade, to serve in the Western Desert on the Italian Front. He served as the Commanding General, Armored Corps Command during the 1967 war and as the Vice Chief of the General Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces in the 1973 Yom Kippur War.
