8vo. Pp. xxvii, 343; vii, 344-720. Index. Illustrated with 62 colored plates, mostly hand-colored with eight by George Catlin and 100 wood engravings in the text. Reddish brown cloth, spines lettered and decorated in gilt, embossed boards with gilt illustration on front boards, previous owner name stamp, scattered light foxing, some fading to spines and top edge of front board of Vol. II. Stunningly illustrated, the fourth and best edition. Seminal anthropological text arguing for the belief that all human tribes and groups belong to a species, the author was a British medical doctor who at one time was the MedicalCommissioner in Lunacy.

Orders from residents of Washington State subject to 10.1% sales tax.
All books are packed and shipped within 24 hours of receipt of order. Every book is professionally packaged in a heavy cardboard box and shipped via US Postal Service, fully insured. Shipping rates are $3.50 per book; an additional $1 for every book thereafter. Sets and oversized volumes might require additional postage – indication of such will be noted in the book description. Those orders ship at cost, as do international orders, for which shipping will be determined per sale. Other shipping modes are available per arrangement. Institutions will be billed per requirements.

All books are shipped well-packed in cardboard boxes. Domestic US orders priced at $3.50 per order. Insurance for sales $75 and above included.
