About the Author
Angelo DePalma, Ph.D., was trained as an organic chemist and held the position of senior scientist at a major pharmaceutical company. Dr. DePalma has been reporting on science, technology, and medicine for ten years. He is currently managing editor of Pharmaceutical Online, the Internet’s premier online pharmaceutical industry site.
David J. Kroll, Ph.D., is associate professor of medicine at Duke University Medical Center, research director of the Duke Center for Integrative Medicine, and a consultant for pharmacists, physicians, and alternative practitioners on the indications and cautions for herbal medicine use. He received a degree in toxicology from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science and obtained his Ph.D. in pharmacology and therapeutics from the University of Florida College of Medicine. Dr. Kroll has lectured widely and has published articles, abstracts, and newsletters in a number of medical journals.
Steven Bratman, M.D., is a physician whose practice integrates the best of conventional and alternative medicine.
