Hardcover, no dustjacket, original red cloth binding tooled in bright gold and blind, a well-preserved copy, moderate wear to the cloth at the corners and spine-tips is the only remarkable flaw, the binding is tight and square and the contents are flawless, features 34 hand-colored plates with the original tissue-guards, a half-title vignette and a frontis engraving of Humboldt, 424 pages, includes an essay on Humboldt and descriptions of carp, pike, salmon, trout, herring, cod, haddock, pipe fishes and more, nice collector's copy of this scarce work, Volume 37 in the series.
