Mark Renz is the author of numerous books about Florida's fossil past. In “Naturally Twisted: A Wild Look At The Wild,” he takes to SW Florida's woods and wetlands, wielding his camera like a poet's point-and-shoot. The world Renz sees is sometimes more realistic than reality and more dreamy than our imaginations. He creates stories of what-ifs and why-nots. He dances with life and plays with its moods. Mark Renz is a Fort Myers, FL native and author of numerous books about Florida's prehistoric past and present - from an amateur's perspective. One of his books, "Fossiling In Florida, ' was published by University Press of Florida. "MEGALODON: Hunting the Hunter" was listed in the Smithsonian's shark research catalog, and his photos have been published internationally in newspapers and magazines. He and his artist wife Marisa own and operate a fossil guide service (Fossil Expeditions) in SW Florida. Renz's current focus is on capturing the sometimes quirky or unusual sides of nature with his camera and pen.
