This is a lovely copy of a lovely book, lavishly illustrated. The binding is sound, the pages are clean and free from signs of prior use. The paper is lightly age-toned. The jacket is mildly chipped at the top and tail of the spine and at the corners, but otherwise intact. It is decorated with an attractive image of a robin redbreast, a butterfly or moth, a caterpillar and foliage, in russet, white and gray-green against a dark green field. No edition is stated, and the publisher is on record as not designating printings, but the price on the jacket is given as 21/-net, if that helps to place it. It must have been with a sense of relief that the British settled back into producing pleasant, affirmative books such as this after the horrors and rigors of the war.

Terms of sale
In addition to payment through Abebooks (the preferred method), payment can be
made via Paypal or personal check or money order for US transactions only. All international sales must be conducted through Abebooks. Paypal does not adjust the exchange rate.
In January 2016 the US postal service changed international shipping rates. Books weighing 2 lbs. or less (packed for shipping) ship at a reasonable rate. The rate for books over this weight has gone up dramatically. For this reason, the bookseller may contact you for extra funds for shipping. This will occur if the book is inexpensive but overweight. You have the opportunity to decline, in which case the sale will be cancelled and your credit card will not be processed.
Checks should be made payable to Lucy Horton. All books are selected and packed with care.
Shipping terms
Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books
weighing 2 lbs.(.09 kg). If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may
contact
you to let you know extra shipping is required.
