Nature of the Self: A Functional Interpretation (Arcturus Books Paperbacks)

Frondizi, Risieri

A book for all scientific humanists to read and ponder such a dramatic interpretation of self is suggestive of the kind of interpretation we need to make intelligible our moral situation.” Patrick Romanell in The Humanist

Risieri Frondizi presents in this work the most complete, exhaustive and well-balanced study of the problem of the self that we have today.” Nicola Abbagnano in Rivista Di Filosofia (1954)

I feel that Part 1 is on a very high level of critical intellectual history, and that the exposition of Gestalt ideas is excellent, and in some respects original. All this amply justifies the book.” Charles Hartshorne in Philosophy and Phenomenological Research (1954)

Frondizi’s book, as a critical and constructive analysis of the nature of the self from the standpoint of empirical philosophy, is a competent and timely contribution to this fundamental problem.” Philip H. Phenix in Teachers College Record (1954)
