Nature Math: A Wonder-Filled Workbook for Curious Kids

By award-winning educator Kelli Pearson (recognized by the Mom's Choice award for Kitten Math 2 ).

Give your child a joyful, hands-on way to learn math—right in their own backyard.

This colorful, engaging Nature Math activity book helps kids discover hidden math patterns in flowers, leaves, pinecones, seashells, fruits, vegetables, and even their own bodies.

Perfect for creative, curious, and “non-mathy” learners, these activities turn nature walks into meaningful math adventures.

🌿 Inside Nature Math, your child will explore:

1. Growing Patterns

Count flower petals, notice visual patterns, and create your own growing patterns inspired by nature.

2. Fibonacci Numbers

Spark curiosity and wonder as kids explore Fibonacci numbers in the world around them, draw nature spirals, and investigate proportions in kid-friendly ways.

3. Nature Spirals

Learn the difference between Archimedean and Fibonacci spirals, then use math to create your own spiral design.

4. Finding Fibonacci

Hunt for Fibonacci numbers and spirals in plants, fruits, vegetables, pinecones, and more—plus a fun nature scavenger hunt.

5. Fibonacci Math

Practice adding big numbers, measuring, comparing, and understanding proportions through visual, real-world challenges.

6. Exploring Fibonacci Through Activities

Enjoy poems, puzzles, a word search, a bingo game, and even a recipe for “Fibo-nachos” for cross-curricular fun.

7. Fractals in Nature

Kids will learn to spot fractals in trees, ferns, lightning, broccoli, and other real-life examples—an early introduction to one of math’s most beautiful ideas.
