Dufief (1776-1834) was a French National who emigrated to England and then America, where he became an educator, bookseller, author, and correspondent with many notable people of the time such as Thomas Jefferson and Joseph Priestley. Very Good, remarkably square binding, calf rubbed at extremities, pushed bottom corners, front board bowed, pp 267-272 dog eared, foxed throughout, soiled text block, else a handsome and well-preserved copy, especially strong for its age. Leather bound octavo (8-1/2 in): contemporary tree calf, spine ruled in gilt, gilt leather label. 416 [2] 92 pp The Fourth Edition, "Considerably Improved and Enlarged".
