A mold remediation expert told me that nothing -- not even the most toxic of chemicals -- could kill 100% of mold on porous surfaces like my drywall, and that there was nothing, period, that would kill airborne mold. According to him, the only way to deal with mold spores in the air was to use high-powered air scrubbers, and for $3700 he would bring in his air scrubbers and chemicals and men in protective suits to deal with my problem, but he wouldn't make any guarantees that my mold would go away and stay away. Then I found out about Dr. Close s research and decided to try the ten-step protocol in this book. The before-and-after test results were nothing short of astonishing, and they saved me a lot of money. Best of all, my cat s steadily worsening asthma was almost nonexistent the week after we eliminated the mold. If you suspect you have a mold problem or mold-related illness, read this book. --Connie Bennett, Homeowner

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is so readable and especially good for the unscientific person. I particularly liked the fact that the information takes one from realizing mold is a factor in one s life, through completion of the remediation project in a clear and concise manner. --Elaine Pinar, LPN
