Over the years HM Body Guard has evolved primarily into a ceremonial unit, but the emphasis of this book is very much on its members—past and present—and their remarkable contributions to military history over the last 500 years. This book is a very well-written and valuable addition to military and royal history, and is beautifully illustrated with over 130 photographs.

About the Author

David Edelsten served in and commanded 13th/18th Royal Hussars (Queen Mar's Own). For eight years he ran a charity devoted to helping people with addiction problems, until writing took over his life—becoming a regular diarist and journalist. He still writes regularly for The Field, and for Horse & Hound. He has published three books in a series called Dorset Diaries.
