(no dust jacket) [a good sound copy, blemished only by a light dampstain at the lower left corner of the front cover; the folded map in the rear pocket is present, and in excellent condition]. (American Guide Series) Series (B&W photographs, maps) Comprehensive guide to the history, culture, commerce and geography of Nebraska. Includes chapters on these individual cities and towns: Beatrice, Fremont, Grand Island, Hastings, Lincoln, Norfolk, North Platte, and Omaha. There are numerous "Tours" laid out for the intrepid motor tourist, as was standard with this excellent series. Of the 80 or so photographs, about a half dozen are credited to the Farm Security Administration, but unfortunately the individual photographers are not identified; the most frequently-credited photographers are Richard W. Hufnagle and Dwight Kirsch. Chronology, bibliography, index. This is the second printing of this guide, issued eight years after the first (and from a different publisher; the 1939 edition was published by the Viking Press), but there is no indication that any revisions had been made to its content.…

Welcome to ReadInk (rhymes with "Dead Ink"), now in our 29th year of putting interesting books into the hands of interested people. **** Although I occasionally lapse into the "royal we" voice, ReadInk is just me, from one end of the pipeline to the other: buying, cataloging, customer service, shipping, you name it. Nothing here is automated, and every order or inquiry gets my prompt, personal attention. **** In describing a book's physical condition, I employ standard book-grading terminology (Good/Very Good/Fine, with various in-between gradations as appropriate) and do my best to avoid both excessive jargon and overly-finicky detail. My goal is always to present a faithful impression of a book's condition and appearance; significant flaws are individually noted, or if too numerous are succinctly summarized. **** Books are more than just physical objects, however: they are also intellectual/information vessels, and in almost every case I also include some information about a book's content in my listing, even if it's only a carefully chosen quotation from the dust jacket copy. (This may sound like a small thing, but take a look sometime and you'll see how amazingly few sellers bother with this, especially in the case of older fiction, which is one of my specialties.) **** I take great care (and pride) in my packaging of books for shipment; I figure it's my responsibility to ensure that each book I send out will withstand the rigors of the U.S. Postal System, and will reach its new owner in the same condition as advertised. We grade our books conservatively (Fine being our highest grade, used only for books with no discernible flaws) and package them liberally: most hardcover books are sent in boxes, securely wrapped and cushioned, and with the dust jacket (if present) protected by a new mylar cover. We provide a concise, accurate description of the condition of every book (and a scanned image of the actual book on offer); please get in touch by email if you need additional information. All books are returnable for a full refund if not A-OK.
Shipping terms
We offer free Media Mail shipping for all domestic (U.S.) orders, and endeavor to keep our Priority Mail rates as reasonable as possible. International shipping in most instances will be via USPS First Class International mail, at the posted rates. Only on rare occasions do we request additional shipping charges, when warranted by the weight or value of the book. Our first priority always is TOP-QUALITY PACKAGING, for MAXIMUM PROTECTION of your book, and we will never compromise on this point.
