This paper evidently saw how impregnable was our Scriptural position, and so, avoiding doctrinal matters, confined itself to a personal attack Łupon myself.. "THE KESWICK DISPUTE. "There is apparently a controversy among those who support the well-known Keswick Convention. Mr. Reader Harris, the head of the Pentecostal Mission--who must not, by the way, be confounded, as he often is, with Mr. Rendel Harris--is an advocate of perfectionist views. Mr. Harris offered a hundred pounds to anyone who would show him a passage of Scripture which, read with the context, positively affirms the necessity of sin in the Spirit-filled believer. "It seems to us that the formation of the subject for discussion is not at all happy. Does not Mr. Reader Harris profess to be perfect himself? If so, how long has he been in that state of perfection? These are questions which we may put to him frankly and without offence, and which he is bound to answer. Even, however, if he said he was perfect--and we are inclined to think, from the tone of the little we have read of his articles, that he would--that would not settle the question. We should like to hear what other people, who knew him, thought about it. What do the lawyers among whom he practises think of the sinless being in their midst? Mr. Harris is, we understand, a very eminent lawyer. There would be no school of sanctification like a court of justice, where a perfect lawyer was at work.
