Need a Bit of Freedom and Other Poems

"I must admit that the poet’s inherent modesty filters into his poems, which are honestly written. Poems that stand still in the surrounding chaos, poems of direct, sympathetic statement. His metaphors are not elaborate, and yet nothing of a charged lyrical quality is lost. Most of Siva Reddy’s poems deal with the contemporary experience, and his subjects should be familiar to most of his readers. But basic to this experience is the concept that poetry is, in itself, an experience. His poems, I feel, make a sensory response of their own that stays with the reader long after they have been put away on the shelf." -- Jayanta Mahapatra
