Nefertiti's Last Tear

There are origin stories whispered between stars—this is one of them.

Above the blue curve of Earth, an ancient vessel keeps its patient orbit. Within it, the alien caretakers watch like gardeners tending a night time nursery. They are custodians of becoming, mourning a world unraveling, a time bomb we ignore, yet unwilling to abandon the fragile experiment called Earth.

Three thousand years after her death, Nefertiti wakes into our century—not to rule, but because she once stood at the dawn of civilization. Around her gather three unlikely companions: a seeker whose shop of rare pages conceals rarer courage, a coder attuned to patterns in chaos, and a caregiver who refuses to look away. Together, they are chosen by the trembling possibility that humanity still holds the power to decide who it will become.

Then, a message is released into the world—not a threat, but a choice—and chaos blooms in its wake. Across the globe, panic is engineered, hope distorted, and the very act of choosing becomes a battleground.

At the heart of the chaos, they discover a quieter, more devastating truth: the alien system that once planted the seeds of humanity has fallen out of tune. It no longer serves its purpose—it must be retuned, its signal rethreaded through the fabric of what we are.

Nefertiti’s Last Tear is a love letter to the human mess: to memory and mercy, to the ache of beauty. It asks, with tenderness and ferocity, whether a single act of clear intention can still turn the tide—and whether, when the moment comes, we will Choose.
