Nemesis: Inception (A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Thriller)

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”
— Mark Twain

Lexi was an exceptional woman living an ordinary life. A neglectful mother and a father taken too soon left her keeping the world at arm’s length—shallow friendships, cautious relationships, and a string of jobs that led nowhere. The one person she loved and trusted was her younger sister, Carey. Even that bond was strained.

Then the lights went out.

In the early morning, a coordinated super-EMP attack struck the United States. It was the fulfillment of a conspiracy years in the making. Millions died in the first hours. Millions more were left on a path toward something worse than death. The grid was gone. Most electronics were dead. Government and infrastructure collapsed almost overnight.

In the ruins that followed, Lexi would finally find her purpose.

The cost would be greater than she could have ever imagined.
