Neural Fuzzy Systems: A Neuro-Fuzzy Synergism to Intelligent Systems

A textbook/disk package surveying important issues in fuzzy systems and neural networks and exploring the use of integrated systems. Examines three types of integrated systems neural fuzzy control systems, fuzzy neural networks, and fuzzy neural hybrid systems in detail, and looks at approximate reasoning, single- and multi-layer networks, and reinforcement training. Includes chapter problems, and appendices on simulating fuzzy logic systems and neural networks using toolboxes in MATLAB. For first- and second-year graduate students and professionals in engineering, computer science, and technology. Annotation c. by Book News, Inc., Portland, Or.

Fuzzy systems and neural networks have attracted a growing interest from researchers, scientists, and engineers looking to build a truly "intelligent" system, one that can learn, remember, and make decisions. This book provides a comprehensive, up-to-date introduction to the basic theories of both applications, as wells as an exploration of how these two fields can be integrated to create Neural-Fuzzy Systems.
