Neurological Case Histories

This book is a collection of over 50 case histories of patients with acute neurological illness. Each case is outlined in brief and followed by several questions on diagnosis and management. It illustrates the clinical issues surrounding patients with neurological diseases, summarising what information is available in the medical literature.

Sarah T Pendlebury trained at Cambridge and Oxford Universities before completing a D Phil on recovery after stroke using magnetic techniques. She is currently a general physician at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Her interests include stroke, cognitive problems and the neurology of general medicine Philip Anslow is a Consultant Neuroradiologist at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford and received the Award of Royal College of Radiologists' Gold Medal (2004) Peter M Rothwell trained at Edinburgh and Oxford. He completed an MD on the neuroendocrine response to acute illness and subsequently a PhD on stroke prevention in patients with carotid stenosis. He is currently professor of clinical neurology at Oxford, director of the Stroke Prevention Research Unit and a practising neurologist.
