About this title

Synopsis

Over the past 30 or 40 years, neutron and synchrotron beams have become increasingly indispensable tools in the physical, chemical, and biological sciences, as well as in technology and medicine. As a result, the demand for user time and for ever more powerful sources and more sophisticated instruments has put pressure on existing facilities and accentuated the need for new ones. A recent Megascience Forum Expert Meeting surveyed the situation and drew attention to what is being done and to what needs to be done to meet the demand for these facilities. This volume presents the results of their discussions.
