Daniel Paterson (1738–1825) was a British Army officer, military cartographer and long-serving assistant to the Quartermaster-General. Entries supply heights of mountains and surveying stations supplied by Lieutenant-Colonel William Mudge, county populations and parliamentary representation, Postal rates and mail-coach arrival and departure times, among other detailed appparatus. Creasing to spine and spine label. Very small split to tail of spine. LIght rubbing to boards, slightly more so to rear. 2 inches of cracking to upper rear joint repaired. Small pale mark to front joint. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with the odd light spot to first and last few leaves. One or two minor handling marks to the odd leaf.
