New Angles On Dementia

Dementia is a group of potentially severely debilitating diseases that affect all aspects of the life of the individual and his/her family - and society. Dementia develops slowly from around the age of late 40s/early 50s, but it does not manifest itself until decades later. In other words, you do not know if it is underway until you get it, and because it is incurable and irreversible, there is no way back after you get the diagnosis.
Dementia impacts 1 in 6 women and 1 in 10 men over the age of 50! It is one of the biggest causes of disability and loss of independence among elderly people, and it is the third leading cause of death in wealthy countries (1 in 3 seniors over 65).
This book is all about knowledge - knowledge about what people can do to minimize the risk of getting the disease and perhaps avoid it entirely - or, if you already have it, knowledge about what you can do to get the best possible life as the disease develops.
The book is based upon the latest scientific and medical information. It covers a wide variety of issues and is presented in a way any layperson can understand.
Dementia impacts so many people - and not just ourselves. We have parents, children, other family members, friends as well as colleagues, neighbors, sports partners etc. who all might be impacted.
Knowledge is your best weapon to deal with such situations, and New angles on dementia offers what everyone needs to know.
