Photo frontispiece. 80pgs. of black and white photography by the great photographers, mostly by Berenice Abbott, and including Eugene Atget, Laura Gilpin, Eugene Smith, Lewis Hine, Andreas Feininger, others. Dog-eared corners on bottom of pages 57-66, closed tears and creases on the bottom corners of pages 67-72. Otherwise the book has minor toning and the photographs are very well preserved. Price-clipped pictorial jacket has chips along the foldover of the front panel, closed tears and even soiling to the rear panel. in mylar sleeve. A very scarce book on how to approach photography as a fine art, Berenice Abbott presents examples of many different photographic problems, with their solutions, and highlights from the works of great photographers of past and present.
