A New Method of Stating and Explaining the Scripture Chronology, Upon Mosaic Astronomical Principles, Mediums and Data, as Laid Down in the Pentateuch

A New Method Of Stating And Explaining The Scripture Chronology, Upon Mosaic Astronomical Principles, Mediums And Data, As Laid Down In The Pentateuch by John Kennedy surveys a biblical-astronomical program that claims sacred chronology can be derived from Mosaic data. The work argues for a twofold calendar system, pairing a solar year with a lunar year, and uses terms from the Pentateuch such as tekuphoth (cardinal points), epacts, and the concept of a fixed, divinely ordained reckoning of time. It presents extensive tables, diagrams, and calculations intended to demonstrate how biblical events and timelines—most notably the creation, the deluge, and later biblical epochs—align with astronomical phenomena like equinoxes and solstices. The author critiques contemporary astronomy and seeks to anchor timekeeping in biblical authority, proposing a rigorous, though controversial, scheme that time, seasons, and feasts are governed by a precise celestial order articulated in Scripture. The work culminates in a claim of mathematical certainty for sacred chronology grounded in the Hebrew text.
