He devours at least a book per week and thrives on learning new things and ideas.
Dr. Greg Brown, and his wife Alicia, love meditation retreats, cruises and travel. They also love action, mystery, sci-fi and fantasy movies. Together they enjoy tasting new foods with unfamiliar tastes and interesting spices. Other past adventures include hang-gliding and paragliding.
Their family includes two big dogs and a little Chihuahua named Kiki who stole their hearts. Kiki is very hard-headed and completely spoiled. They enjoy classical music, especially Bach, but also like some new mixed styles like Lesium, Blackmore's Night and Adiemus which combine a lyric beautiful sound with a strong beat. Dr. Greg plays the organ with some skill. Alicia and Greg enjoy meditation as a great way to break set and get new insights. They usually go to the Monroe Institute each year to have a wonderful, relaxing and consciousness-expanding week of meditative experience.
Dr. Gregory P. Brown, MD, completed a B.A. in psychology from Oberlin College, followed by medical school at the University of Arkansas. He obtained post-graduate training in general psychiatry at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia followed by fellowship training in forensic psychiatry at the University of Rochester.
He is presently an Associate Professor at the University of Las Vegas School of Medicine where is he also the Program Director for the Psychiatry Residency Training Program in Las Vegas. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in the fields of Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. Dr. Brown is a Certified Trainer in NLP, Hypnosis, and Time Line Therapy(R).
His interests range from models of psychotherapy and the mind - to hypnosis, meditation, and concepts of creativity. Dr. Greg's first book, by the title of "New Mind New Body: the Inner Makeover for a New You" is based on his own challenges with diet and weight.
