New Munsell Student Color Set

Albert Munsell's system of color notation has been taught for nearly a century, but the applications and uses of the system are constantly changing. Fairchild's updated and expanded The New Munsell "RM" Student Color Set, with The Munsell "RM" Color System: A Language for Color by Joy Turner Luke, provides a total learning package for the system, bridging the gap between the theory and application of color. In simple, straightforward language, Luke's text teaches the importance of a standardized language to communicate color, and the factors affecting how we perceive it. The three dimensions of color -- hue, value, and chroma -- are also described. There is a brief contextual description of other color systems. This text bridges the gap between the theory and appreciation of color. Munsell "RM" color charts, to be assembled with new, enlarged chips, are the basis for additional projects and exercises. This set is ideal for students of design, art, fashion, architecture, interior design, manufacturing, color science, and anyone else who works with or is interested in color.
